I Kina har man hittat bevis p\u00e5 hirsodlingar fr\u00e5n uppemot 7000 f\u00f6re Kristus! Under brons\u00e5ldern odlades en del hirs i Europa men konkurrerades senare ut av andra gr\u00f6dor. Hirs \u00e4r mycket nyttigt och dessutom glutenfritt. Det \u00e4r rikt p\u00e5 mineraler, flerom\u00e4ttat fett, B-vitaminer, magnesium, zink, kalcium och kalium och inneh\u00e5ller fyra g\u00e5nger s\u00e5 mycket j\u00e4rn som r\u00e5ris. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jag kokar ofta en gr\u00f6t p\u00e5 hirs smaksatt med nyttiga ayurvediska kryddor; kanel, kardemumma, ibland \u00e4ven mald kryddnejlika samt vanilj f\u00f6r smakens skull. Eftersom jag f\u00f6redrar min gr\u00f6t utan mj\u00f6lk kokar jag den p\u00e5 mandel- eller havremj\u00f6lk och serverar den helt enkelt med lite extra kanel str\u00f6dd \u00f6ver.
