V\u00e5rt f\u00f6delsedagsrace ligger koncentrerat \u00f6ver i princip ett halv\u00e5r och inleds i november med makens dotters f\u00f6delsedag, forts\u00e4tter raskt i december med min dotters f\u00f6delsedag i mellandagarna och hack i h\u00e4l i tidigaste januari n\u00e4r vi knappt h\u00e4mtat oss efter ny\u00e5r \u00e4r det dags f\u00f6r makens sons f\u00f6delsedag p\u00e5 Trettondagen. Sonen brukar ibland v\u00e4lja en glassbomb ist\u00e4llet och s\u00e5 \u00e4ven i \u00e5r. Bl\u00e5b\u00e4r och n\u00e5got syrligt l\u00f6d instruktionen till lilla mamman som kom upp med den h\u00e4r skapelsen; bl\u00e5b\u00e4rsglass med ett inre av en gulgr\u00f6n sorbet p\u00e5 lime med basilika. Helst hade jag velat ha citronverbena men det kan man inte f\u00e5 tag p\u00e5 s\u00e5 h\u00e4r \u00e5rs, i vart fall inte p\u00e5 v\u00e5ra breddgrader. Utanp\u00e5 spritsar jag en italiensk mar\u00e4ng som br\u00e4nns av med br\u00e4nnare, vilket \u00e4r l\u00e4ttare \u00e4n att baka hela h\u00e4rligheten i het ugn, som man gjorde f\u00f6rr. Mitt senaste intresse<\/strong> <strong>f\u00f6r mat som man \u00e5t f\u00f6r 100 \u00e5r sedan, p\u00e5 det glada 20-talet, har bland annat visat att Baked Alaska \u00e4r en av de tjusiga efterr\u00e4tter som ibland serverades d\u00e5. Men den \u00e4r faktiskt \u00e4nnu \u00e4ldre, den uppfanns redan p\u00e5 1800-talet d\u00e5 en matroad kemist gjorde uppt\u00e4ckten att \u00e4ggvita inte leder v\u00e4rme(!). Sagt och gjort; de nya tekniska r\u00f6nen som duggade som sp\u00f6n i backen i den r\u00e5dande industrialismens tid ledde till att den spektakul\u00e4ra efterr\u00e4tten gjorde <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 600\">entr\u00e9<\/span> <strong>i salongerna &#8211; s\u00e5 sp\u00e4nnande och raffinerat med iskall glass inuti och het mar\u00e4ng utanp\u00e5! Glace, som det d\u00e5 stavades \u00e4ven h\u00e4r i Sverige, var en ny och sp\u00e4nnande r\u00e4tt som serverades i en uppsj\u00f6 olika smaker.
